Design Description:

There are several design features that make this bucket saw unique and aesthetically pleasing. Probably the most obvious feature is the worktable. Our worktable is made out of clear plastic, more specifically K-Resin KR01. This plastic has attributes of transparency, stiffness, and warp resistance. This is the perfect material for the worktable and transparency makes it possible to use the ribs to be the visual guide for making straight cuts. The worktable has four holes that are spaced and sized appropriately so that Milwaukee 6268-21 Orbital Jig Saw can be directly mounted with screws. Furthermore, there is a dust chute that is cut at a 45-degree angle to guide the sawdust inside the bucket. The dust chute also has the ribs underneath to prevent larger object to fall/jab the jigsaw while in use.

Our work table has a circular slot so that it can be placed on top of the bucket. Additionally, our bucket saw design uses a 2-piece locking system (ring and clip) for securing the worktable to the bucket; this design allows for the easy and fast removal of the worktable from the bucket for easy cleaning. In addition, this kit comes with a ShopVac attachment for collecting sawdust..

Our bucket saw kit has several attractive features, but at the same time, it requires minor modification to the 5-gallon bucket. First, the purchaser must remove the rim of the bucket in order to slide the ring from the top; this can be done with a jigsaw. Second, the ring must be secured to the bucket by glue. Third, the purchaser must cut out a 1.5” diameter hole towards the bottom of the bucket in order to attach the ShopVac attachment.
