Ethical Analysis

Our product is designed to show users how much toilet paper is left in the dispenser as they get in the stall. This will allow for the users to know which bathrooms do and don’t have toilet paper, so they can access which stall they want to use. We will be using Arduino to create a code that will allow for the product to show the amount of toilet paper remaining. Within our product itself, we will mimic the school bathroom’s toilet paper dispenser, keeping the product safe to use for all bathroom users. There will not be any visible cords used that could potentially harm the user. The additional pieces we will be creating on the dispenser will be on the inside of the dispenser, so it will not come in any contact with the user or potentially fall off onto them. We are looking to create a product that if safe and advances the typical toilet dispenser in the average bathroom.

Biomedical engineering professional obligation 1:

We will be using our prior knowledge as well as the information we will learn from fellow engineers during the process of creating out product. With this information we will work to create a product that enhances the productivity of users within the bathroom while considering the health, safety and welfare of the users. This focuses on the welfare of the user by reducing the spreading of bacteria as there is no toilet paper after finishing business on the toilet.

Biomedical engineering professional obligation 2:

We want for our product to reflect us as engineers and to be held to a high standard. Our work will not only reflect ourselves but the work of all biomedical engineers.  WE want to create a quality product that focuses on improving hygiene.

Biomedical Engineering Health Care Obligation 1:

We will be having the responsibility towards and rights of the patient as our primary concern within the product. In no one will we be looking to cause harm, as we will be working to avoid any instances of injury within out product. This will improve right as communication needed after not having toilet paper will not be needed in between stalls.

Biomedical Engineering Health Care Obligation 2:

We take into consideration the larger consequences of our work in response to the bigger entities of health care. We will work to be trusted by the clients. We will not show anything below the highest levels of honesty and integrity within the process. At all times, we are working to meet the expectations of the public’s needs within our product. With this product it could also allow for an improvement with hygiene and not need for as much money spent with health care options.
