This is a device that a YouTuber created to track the toilet paper being used in real time. As the toilet paper roll spins, the roll spins on the app and the amount of toilet paper on the app decreases with the toilet paper decreasing in real life. This device is separate from the roll holder and dispenser and must be attached to the dispenser. The device uses a programmable IoT board which is similar to the Arduino that we will be using for the project and an HC-SRO4 ultrasonic sensor which is similar to the sensors that are available to us. Since this product was made solely for the purpose of the YouTuber and not for mass production, it is not available to the public.

The I.O. Toilet is a smart toilet paper holder (the part on the inside of the of the toilet paper) that tracks the amount of turns the toilet paper holder performs and it tracks the amount of toilet paper left based on the number of turns. The device comes with its own app to alert all active users that the toilet paper has run out and it needs to be replaced. The holder comes with an app that tracks the amount of toilet paper left and the amount of toilet paper and your average toilet paper consumption. It even allows the user to post their toilet paper consumption to Facebook. This product isn’t available to the public but the website hints that the holder will become an available product. 

The RollScout is an advanced toilet paper dispenser that alerts users when the toilet paper on the current roll has almost run out of toilet paper.  The device uses infrared sensors that sense the distance either to the toilet roll if there is toilet paper, or the other side of the dispenser if there is no more toilet paper. To alert the users when toilet paper has run out a red light goes off on the dispenser and a text is sent to the users of the toilet. The RollScout has a sleek, modern design that has been advertised to go well in fancy public restrooms, but it is by no means limited to only the public restroom. There is no available price for the RollScout but there is an option for other businesses to contact and work with the company.
